A Little About Me
My fascination with nutrition began in high school during Grade 9 Home Economics Class! The class sparked my curiosity about the impact of food on the body. However, it was not until my first year of university that I discovered nutrition and dietetics as a profession, and realized I could specialize in this field.
I believe in eating a variety of foods and that in moderation anything can fit into a healthy diet.
I offer personalized nutrition counseling by carefully listening and simplifying complex nutrition concept. This allows me to help create practical plans for making meaningful changes.
I enjoy helping my clients set realistic goals, find simple ways to improve their health, gain confidence with their food choices, build sustainable health habits and ultimately reach their goals!
I provide flexible customized plans, ongoing education and accountability, in a supportive environment. I am excited at every opportunity to help someone improve their health through food. I truly believe that food is medicine, and nutrition makes an impact on people’s lives!
Work Experiences
From 2010-2020, I worked as a Certified Diabetes Educator where I supported diabetic patients as they manage their health. I was able to gain valuable experience in the area of diabetes.
Since 2014, I have been taking part in research projects and became co-author on scientific paper in 2017. Taking part in research has allowed me to continue to gain knowledge which I apply to clients.
In 2023, I undertook additional training in fertility nutrition through Early Life Nutrition Alliance out of Australia. This training allowed me to learn and now apply the latest research to assist clients seeking support regarding fertility. I advocate that eating in a balanced, sustainable diet is a key component of healthy lifestyle and a foundation for a successful pregnancy. My approach to fertility nutrition education aims to help both the patient and their partner understand the relationship between dietary choices, weight management, lifestyle choices, health conditions, fertility and pregnancy.
